I made this storage ottoman from a drawer of a tossed out desk, feet from a tossed couch, leftover faux alligator fabric and batting, stain, and hinges I got from a resource Center for $2. The total cost for this project was $7 and a few hours. I could only load one picture, so I did the after. I believe this is not public, so the before is on my page at www.redesigndiva.com
Thank you for this competition!

Wow this is stunning, I love the concept and it’s turned out beautifully. It just goes to show what a bit of time and thought can achieve! Great job!
Thank you for the kind words, Maddy! It just breaks my heart to see furniture thrown out on the street. I wish I could save it all!
I know what you mean, its awful that people won’t even go to the bother of trying to find a charity to use the item as it was intended! I think its great you make all these pieces, I went on your website and loved your gallery! Its inspired me to keep my eyes peeled for any furniture thrown out that I might salvage for a project
Glad to see you reaching second place with your excellent suggestion, Kindle Cherry – Congratulations. I’m looking forward to hearing more about the things you rescue from landfill and turn into beautiful furniture.
Thanks tons, Rachelle! I will be working on it one piece at a time…lol
