Grilled Apple and Cheese Sandwich

Posted by: VegBox Recipes

Apples are in season in the UK from August all the way through to the end of March (depending on the variety).

This snack is a firm favourite in our house, especially on the days when we’re in a hurry, the cupboards are a little bare, and I really don’t have time to go shopping! All you need is bread, cheese and apples, after all!

Ingredients:

(Serves 2)

2 slices of bread;
Enough slices of the cheese of your choice to cover two pieces of bread; 1 apple, washed, dried and sliced;

Method:

•Toast both slices of bread in the toaster

•While you’re waiting for the bread, slice your apple and the cheese

•Place the cheese slices on the bread first, then arrange the apple slices on top

•Place under the grill until the cheese is melted and starting to brown

•Devour in seconds (mind – the cheese is hot!)

Cupboard-To-Table:

7-10 minutes

Notes and Variations:

Try sprinkling the apples with sugar and / or cinnamon before grilling
