Three birds one stone time : )
Yesterday, after a weekend of work, VBH and I succumbed to the seduction of take-away pizza to enjoy on the sofa whilst snuggling up with a movie.
This morning there were two slices left, and although I balked at the idea of pizza two days in a row, I balked more at the idea of throwing it away.
Challenge one = reduce food waste.
Challange two = eat more healthily.
On a totally separate note, my Waist-Height Garden needed attention today, with pots full to bursting with cabbage, lettuce, endive and pak choi seedlings needing to be thinned.
Challenge three = harvest seedling thinnings.
Taking my inspiration from Mrs Green, it got to lunch time, and while the pizza slices were warming under the grill I picked my seed thinnings and gave them a quick rinse.
Once the pizza was bubbling again, I added a scrumptious layer of cabbage, pak choi and lettuce seedlings and munched away, enjoying the taste of my own healthy harvest mingling with slightly naughty left overs.
