“Good” Christmas Pud

Posted by: VegBox Recipes

Every year here at VegBox we search for new recipes for Christmas Day dessert.

This year, we’ve put together one classic and, for those of you (like my family) who would rather eat their own eyeballs, something lighter and involving less (now dropping my voice to a whisper) raisins.

The Classic

If you’re a fan of tradition, here is a recipe for a non-suet Christmas Pud.

If you’re loving the pud idea, but don’t want to make it yourself, check out the organic options at Riverford and Ethical Superstore have to offer. While you’re there, you could pick up some organic mince pies too.

The Alternative

This year’s alternative is Sweet-Baked Butternut Puds.

We’re booked to celebrate Christmas early with VegBox Husband’s family by going ice-skating (In-Laws-On-Ice!) before coming home to eat. Because there won’t be enough time for re-steaming, and because of the (sshh) raisin-hatred that prevails, this is what we’re going to be having, and frankly I can’t wait. I thought I might serve it with some ginger-y ice cream and a glass of champagne… Yum!!

What are your Christmas Day dessert plans?
