Promotion of Products and Services on Ooffoo

It is expected that items and services you may choose to write about on Ooffoo or offer for sale do not harm the environment, people and animals, and encourage a better quality of living.

As a guide, the following are examples of the kinds of products or services that our community would wish to know about:

• Hand made and craft items.
• Promote local goods, services and community trade.
• Promote longer product life extension and durability, i.e. well made, from solid and long lasting materials.
• Encourage or offer mending like the services of cobblers, tailors, and electricians.
• Use recycled materials.
• Promote recycling.
• Save energy or water or other resources.
• Made from natural, organic, ecological or sustainable materials.
• Use fewer chemicals than standard alternatives.
• Use natural or organic ingredients.
• Are fairly traded, or promote fair trade and sustainable community production.
• Promote healthier lifestyles and ecological living.
• Promote or assist natural well being and healing.
• Encourage arts, culture and education.
• Promote conservation of natural habitats and wildlife.
• Promote and encourage gardening.
• Promote the appreciation of nature.
• Encourage outdoor pursuits, exploration and responsible travel.
• Support positive solutions and sustainable ideas.
• Help reduce, reuse and recycle.
• Help keep goods out of land fill.
• Provide non toxic alternatives.
• Help to balance mind, body and spirit.
• Promote the people inspiring positive solutions.
• Promote and encourage home cooking.

You may have your own good reasons to promote your product or service using the community blog. Please do give as much detail in your copy to allow for the community to understand the benefits you are promoting.

Whatever your product or service you must meet UK product legislation and trading standards or the equivalent standards required within the country in which you are selling it.

Please do not advertise on this site if you are selling weapons, pornography, drugs, products sourced from illegal logging, products derived from endangered species or that exploit the environment and its inhabitants.

Please remember that this is not a site to give medical advice whether you are qualifed or not.

A Free Thinking Community

This is a place for free expression but we do hope that our community will be vigilant and question anyone who is promoting an idea or a product or service that does not seem appropriate or within the spirit of this community.

We hope that we can make this site a sustainable facility where everyone benefits and enjoys its facilities. Please help us to be vigilant. Let us know if you believe someone is abusing this space or may not be using this site in the spirit in which it is created. Only if the community reports abusers can it truly remain a place of free positive thinking. Without this it would be extremely difficult to monitor but let’s not allow this problem to stop us from creating a place for free expression and which values honesty decency and civility.
